Escapism Obstructs Growth

Not trying to be pessimistic, but human being in general is an escapist in many situations. When a problem arises, his immediate reaction is not working towards a ‘Solution’, but a quick provocative thought hits him as to who is to be blamed for the actual problem. This is called ‘Escapism.’ How many times in our life did we try to blame someone for the mistakes we did? We are in fact proving this – To err is Human. To blame it on some one else is much more Human.

Why does man always try to escape from situations? It is because of his timid nature, laziness, lack of courage, worth, confidence and self satisfaction.
None of the above is of any good to us. “The chains of the habit are too weak to be felt until they are too strong to be broken.” so said Dr.Samual Johnson. So we need to take care in order to let go off this habit of escapism. How?

When you are faced with a problem be it, small or big, firstly stop reacting. Though tough, it is practicable. Do not panic immediately because it worsens the situation. Now start looking into the problem as to what the problem exactly is, what caused the problem and not who caused the problem. The moment we try to ponder on ‘who’ rather than ‘what’, we start filling our hearts with hatred, grudge and all negative feelings. This will not solve the problem. Do not blame the person who is the root cause of the problematic situation. True, we think we need to teach him a lesson but there is a time and worth for doing that. As it is said by a great being, it is not best that we should all think alike; it is difference of opinion that makes horse races. We all differ. Just because you think that a person made a mistake, it doesn’t mean he deserves all the anger and blame on earth. It is the nature of every person to error; give him a chance. After all, no one in the world is perfect.

Next comes the solution for the problem. If you stop blaming others, then the solution comes in very easily. Let escapism not dare to obstruct your growth anymore. Escapism doesn’t let you learn lessons which are only meant to grow higher and higher leading to more perfection. Every time a problem arises, you escape by blaming some one who was the cause for it. So you are turning away from the present problem. You have escaped it once but if you do not learn how to solve the problem, you will have to learn escaping from your problems your whole life. So why not learn to solve the problems and stop blaming others in order to develop courage, self-confidence? Self-confidence is your only strength with which you need not bow down with guilt before anyone. Pride then dances on your shoulders while the Smile dances on your lips. There is no problem which we cannot solve.

“Problem knocks your life not to create another problem of tension but for you to teach the tact of solving any other future problem.”- Sharmila Sanka

Spiritual Poems – Why Read Them?

What makes spiritual poems different from other spiritual writings? Poetry has a way of pointing more directly at reality, rather than just defining it. It uses words as tools for the transmission of experience. Spiritual poetry then, is more about enlightenment than belief. Here is a classic example from the Tao Te Ching:

Empty your mind of all thoughts.
Let your heart be at peace.
Watch the turmoil of beings,
but contemplate their return.

Each separate being in the universe
returns to the common source.
Returning to the source is serenity.
If you don’t realize the source,
you stumble in confusion and sorrow.

When you realize where you came from,
you naturally become tolerant,
disinterested, amused,
kindhearted as a grandmother,
dignified as a king.

Immersed in the wonder of the Tao,
you can deal with whatever life brings you,
and when death comes, you are ready.

The Christian Bible is full of spiritual poems. Consider this short passage from the poetry found in Corinthians:

When I was a child,
I spoke like a child,
I thought like a child,
I reasoned like a child;
when I became a man,
I gave up childish ways.

Spiritual poems are not necessarily religious poems. They can simply point at the universal values in life, and at our relationship to these. This can be seen in the last stanza of the poem “Lake Superior.”

There was the sun on my face,
and this was superior
to any description, idea,
belief or faith.

Spiritual poetry can try to point out some particular truth. It can also be more enigmatic, causing you to investigate an idea more closely to find your own truth. It can be an expression of love, or encourage you to relax and be at peace. Simple enjoyment, though, is enough reason to read spiritual poems.

Steve Gillman has meditated and studied meditation for over twenty years. You can find the rest of these poems and subscribe to The Meditation Newsletter at: http://www.TheMeditationSite.com.

Being An Angel On Earth

I’ll confess to a little trepidation as I write this next piece, but here goes anyway. I read in Science of Mind Magazine this morning an article about angels. The article reminded me that angels are considered to be messengers from God. Then it created a new possibility for me — being an Earthly Angel.

‘How do you become an angel in the world today? First, spread your wings to fly above the physical illusions to embrace the world in love and feel your oneness with all life.’

Kirk Moore, author of the article and the book ‘Tara’s Angels,’ continued, ‘You act as an angel when you offer encouragement and hope to every situation; reminding others that love heals everything. You act as an angel when you see beyond today; see the bigger picture; see the potential and the possibilities. Know that however things may look in this moment there is something greater at work. You act as an angel when you support others in finding their unique purpose and living it.’

Thank you Mr. Moore for that refreshing perspective — one that I intend to step into and be — an Earthly Angel. Sure, my halo may become crooked from time to time, might even fall off on occasion, but still, I’m ready to take on this challenge. How about you? Will you join the forces of Earthly Angels and stand for what’s possible on our beloved planet?

Boundary Issues – Five Commandments For The Woman Who Cannot Say No

1. Thou shalt not volunteer for every task/project on sundry – This is regardless of the shortage of volunteers or the compelling nature of the cries for help. It matters not that you can do the task with your eyes closed or you are happy to give up even more of your sleep (yet again!). Feel free to walk away from it – or at least till you can think carefully through any decision you might make. PS: Just in case you feel like the world will stop spinning because you said ‘no’ – IT WON’T! (trust me). Other people have been lined up to do the task. The only problem is that you keep refusing to let go. And so others don’t get a chance.

2. Thou shalt learn to say ‘no’ more often AND resist the guilt-trips you feel when you do. To combat these guilt trips, say out loud to yourself “I choose to say ‘no’ on this occasion and this is the decision I have made. So get over it, Woman!” Under no circumstances are you to wind yourself up with so much guilt that you change your decision (regardless of the sob stories, manipulation, etc) – only do so if your heart (not head) tells you to do so!

3. Love thy neighbour as thyself! When we think of this, some of us have it ingrained in us to constantly give of our selves. This in itself is not bad but I believe there is a cut-off here. Moreover, this commandment also gives us the liberty to love ourselves equally as we love others. To me, that allows me to not only do nice things for others but myself too! Plus, I don’t have to feel bad about it neither.

4. From hence forth, thy shalt put boundaries in place and no longer tolerate people who ill-treat you, does not value your existence or celebrate the woman you are. If proper care is not taken, these people may end up draining you physically, spiritually, emotionally and financially. And you are too precious for that. Put healthy boundaries in place to ensure that these people do not ‘hack’ away the essence of your being. Have you noticed that when you don’t do this, you end up harbouring anger, bitterness and resentment against the person because of what they are doing to you (or should I say the things you allow them to do?). When necessary, confront the person(s), give them the room to change and let them know what the consequences would be if there is no change. Never be afraid of letting go of them to create room for healthier relationships.

5. Thou shalt not make your decisions based on what you think others will consider to be right, what others would be pleased with, etc. I implore you to start making your decisions from your heart not according to the gospel of all on sundry. You might do well by learning to block out those voices and not let them drive you to do things not right for you. Develop enough emotional strength to make decisions that are right for you and stick with them.

A Nigerian proverb says, “half a word is sufficient for the wise”. Oh and by the way, the grave is full of indispensable people.

Every Man Dies; Not Every Man Really Lives

The title of this newsletter was taken from a line spoken by the character of Sir
Wallace just before his death in the movie, “Braveheart.” I recently rented that movie
and when I heard these words it touched the core of my being realizing how
incredibly true that statement is.

Every one of us on this planet will die, but not every one of us will have lived as full
of a life as we might have been capable of living. Too many people in the later years
of their life talk about all the things they wished they had done that are too late to
do now. Given the opportunity to do things over again they would have taken more
risks, been less afraid of failing, traveled more, lived more from a place of their own
truth instead of someone else’s, played harder, worked less.

What about you? If tomorrow were your last day on this planet, could you honestly
say you’ve lived your life to the fullest? Are there things within your reach that you
could do that you keep putting off? Are you avoiding going after your dream simply
because you’re afraid of not having it come true? Are you laughing enough? Or do
you find yourself taking yourself and life too seriously? Are you sleepwalking
through your days missing out on the everyday beauty that surrounds you? Do you
always need to be right? Are you standing in your truth without worrying about what
others think?

You always have a choice to approach each and every day with new enthusiasm,
trying something new, changing up your routine. The fact that you’ve woken up and
you’re feet hit the floor is reason to celebrate. YOU’RE ALIVE! Why not start your day
excited about that, and then see what you can do that allows you to feel like you’ve
lived a fuller life when that day comes to an end. The more enthusiasm you extend
from yourself the more opportunities will present themselves for you to grab onto.

You came into this world with nothing and you will leave this world with nothing.
Make the time you have in between the two everything and leave with no regrets.

What’s the Deal with Sedona, Arizona?

A friend once told me of a place called Sedona, Arizona. She went on to say that Sedona was one of the five places on Earth to be of a sensitive hot spot of the world. Sedona is a hotspot for many of the metaphysical world. Each person’s experience will vary once there. For some they encounter vibrations, some are able to see visions, and some can speak to the other side.

Sedona is full of psychics and mediums. The Cathedral Rocks is claimed for its Vortex. Some have stated that they have seen UFOs and Angels here. I’ve seen pictures and some of the rock formations look very magical. Some of the rocks have images of faces. I can’t say for sure if it is what it seems to be, but many are drawn to this location after seeing the surreal pictures.

It is located south of Flagstaff. In the past many shamans and medicine men went to the Vortex for spiritual cleansing and other things. I’ve always been drawn to the things of this world that are often overlooked. There have been no official investigations to those that claim Sedona’s magical nature.

It is documented that many of those that have come here, were healed from their ailments. Each person will come to a different conclusion. I think it’s something that should be checked out fully.

Astrology

In astrology, luck is preordained, simply put, some people are just born lucky. Of course, to believe, or not believe in astrology is the prerogative of every thinking individual and just as in the case of other disciplines, in astrology too, there are those practitioners who are proficient in their area of expertise and those that need to hone their skills.

‘Reincarnation’ is a principle that is fundamental to Hinduism. According to this belief, the course of any individual’s life, is the sum total of that person’s ‘Karma‘, from previous births. All mortals must therefore follow the cycle of birth and rebirth, till a stage of, ‘Atam Gyan‘, or enlightenment is reached. As a result of this cycle, the birth chart that one inherits is considered to be the resultant of one’s actions from previous lives. Therefore, in astrology, a horoscope is considered to be a map, which identifies positive elements one can take advantage of to attract those golden opportunities people call good luck.

Although, there are several forms of astrology, the predominantly practiced forms are, as Western Astrology, Vedic Astrology or ‘Jyotish‘ and Chinese Astrology, as a search on any Internet Search Engine will reveal. Most people still think that astrology is all about – your Sun Sign, however, true astrology is not what you see in newspapers and magazines, as these readings are generic and are too general in nature to be of any purposeful value.

Vedic astrology is defined as a mathematical study of the motion of the planets and constellations, for the purpose of drawing a horoscope. Analysing the positions and characteristics of the planets in a particular horoscope, allows astrological predictions, of future events to be made. Vedic and Western astrologies share most of their basic concepts, such as the signs, planets, and houses, as well as their general interpretive meanings. The fundamental difference between the two lies the measurement of the zodiac.

Vedic astrology uses the sidereal zodiac, in which the stars are considered to be the fixed background against which the motion of the planets is measured. Western astrology uses the tropical zodiac, where the motion of the planets is measured against the position of the Sun on the Spring equinox. Sidereal astrologers claim their approach is more in keeping with the ancient traditions of the subject. When the vernal point was first defined in the 2nd Century as 0 Aries, the tropical and sidereal zodiacs would have shown no difference. The precession of the equinoxes, a phenomenon know to the ancients but forgotten by Western astronomers during the Dark Ages, meant that the Western zodiac based on the calendar became out of step with the heavens. Western astrologers have never done a catching up exercise and many still do not fully understand the implications of their error.

Astronomers as well as tropical and sidereal astrologers still base their measurement of the sky on a zero point taken as the position of the vernal equinox on the ecliptic. This has the same significance in the sky as the prime meridian on the Earth’s globe, i.e. it is the zero point of a 360 degree arc which is used to give a location for any object in the sky known as right ascension. In the same way as longitude (and latitude) give a position on the Earth.

Sidereal astrologers add a correction to this point to allow for the precession of the equinoxes. They do this so that the zodiacal signs used in their astrology coincide with the constellations of stars to which they refer. This correction is called the ayanamsa and different sidereal astrologers use different precise values. This value is usually around 24 degrees at the present time and is constantly increasing as the equinoxes precess.

About 2,000 years ago, the two zodiacs were in approximate agreement and the vernal equinox fell at the start of the constellation Aries. Sidereal astrologers see the failure of most Western astrologers to relate their work to the actual heavens which they interpret, as an opportunity for critics of astrology to denigrate the subject.

Science and astrology are based on two diametrically opposed points of view. Everyday, modern science makes new discoveries about the Cosmos, while the knowledge that gives us Vedic astrology is based on the ancient belief that, all that exists has already been discovered and that this knowledge is contained in the ancient scriptures. However, the correlation between astrological predictions and real life events is what makes the existence of astrology undeniable. The term ‘Vedic astrology’ was introduced by American astrologers in the 1980s and 1990s. ‘Vedic’ refers to the Hindu holy texts, known as ‘Vedas’. This form of astrology is also known as ‘Indian ‘ or ‘Hindu’ astrology. In the end, however, all of these words are English. In the ancient Indian language of Sanskrit, ‘Vedic astrology’ is referred to as ‘Jyotish‘, which means the ‘Science of Light.’

Time and space are concepts that are central to Vedic astrological calculations. In ancient times Vedic astrologers used the following units of time:

Vipal = 4 sec, Pal =24 sec, Ghari = 60 Pal, or 24 min and Ansh, 30 Ansh = 1 Month.

Today, Vedic astrologers use modern, metric time units to forecast their predictions and with the help of sophisticated computer software, it is possible for an astrologer to accurately cast the horoscope of any person, born at any location. Once a horoscope has been cast, an astrologer will usually analyse the following aspects:

Character and Personality Profile

Love and Relationships

Health

Money

Friend & Family

Destiny, or Fate in General

However, it is also possible to find the answer to a particular question by employing ‘Prasha Shastra’, or Horary astrology, by casting a horoscope specifically in relation to when the question was asked. The results of such readings, usually take the form of a simple, ‘Yes’ or ‘No’.

Astrology, be it Eastern or Western, is extremely vast and to explore every aspect of this fascinating subject would be quite beyond the scope of this article, not to mention this writer’s capabilities. Never the less, I hope that by scratching the surface, some of the mysteries shrouding astrology have been lifted.

Energy Enhancement Meditation Opening the Heart, Relationships, Hanbledzoin, Kundalini + Shaktipat

Usually first step is to Open the Heart, and on this planet only perhaps 50% of the people have started to think a little about others instead only of themselves.

This means that the other 50% of the people perhaps are entirely selfish so now you can understand all your problems with relationships! Opening the Heart is the First Initiation on the path of Enlightenment and in it the Solar Plexus starts to empower the Heart with its energy. Blockages stopping the flow of Energy include Anger.

Anger is totally removed!

Then Master Relationships. This is the Second Initiation and entails the Second, Abdominal or Relationship chakra starting to power the Throat Chakra, the source of our creativity. And then open the pathway between the Base Chakra and all the Head Chakras. This is commonly called Enlightenment itself. The Crown Chakras purpose is to access the Soul or Higher Self through the Antahkarana or the Energy Connection from the Crown Chakra to the Higher chakras above the head, or The Highest Heart, Prajna Paramita. ENERGIZE!!

Once Relationships have easily been mastered then The Third Initiation, Enlightenment happens in the same Lifetime!

The problems of the World are now so intense that there needs to be a speeding up of evolution to create more evolved and Happy Beings. The problem is that most people are Not Happy!

The problems of the World come from a Lack of Evolution, a Lack of the Opening of the Heart, of Caring, of Sympathy, of wanting to help, Of wanting to reduce the amount of Pain in Humanity. If you have no Heart which is the Case of more than half of Humanity, then Selfishness, Anarchy, War, Revenge, Jealousy, Envy, Torture and Psychopaths will rule! And this has been the case for all the History of this Earth! This speeding up of evolution can only come with a Heart to provide by Right of Being Born, of All Basic Needs to every member of Humanity.

As a Good Family gives its Sons and Daughters Everything for their Evolution. These Basic Needs Are Food, Housing, Money, Education And Meditation Teaching, also Security, And Human Rights.

Meditation will Speed Up all other techniques, Hatha Yoga, working on the health of the body, Pranayama, working on increasing energy and happiness, Dance or Martial arts, for instinctive grace and movement. In Energy Enhancement we start with meditation and move on into The Kundalini Kriyas of the Hindu and Taoist Masters. Then Samyama, working on removing all the problems of: Energy Blockages, Cleaning the Psychic Body, Cleaning the Inner Traumas and Memories, Creating Incredible Relationships.

We need to work first on Meditation and the Grounding of Negative Energies. As Gurdjieff said, “First Mastic. Then Mystic.” Which is the ability to digest all negative energies.

Extra energy comes from outside, from the teachers usually, “Hanbledzoin,” as Gurdjieff said, is the Energy, The Bled, or Blood of the Masters, and is necessary for the integrative process. This is the Buddhafield. This is the origin of Shaktipat. This is the origin of all access to the symptoms of Kundalini Energy.

These specialized energies are available to complete the psychic bodies, to fill them up, to complete them. These energies can only come through properly Authorised Teachers. An Advanced Synthesis of Successful Meditation Techniques is a new Higher Frequency of Energy sent by Ascended Masters and Highly Evolved Devas or Angels to speed up the evolution of this planet.

All Advanced teachers can be judged by all students to have Advanced Meditational Experience after years of Training. It is the first test of the Student to choose the Right Teachers.

Some teachers teach that it is necessary to take energy from other students. They never mention the Opening of the Heart through the Removal of Energy Blockages like Anger and Depression. They Never mention the Purification of the Antahkarana and Connection with the Soul. Energy Vampires only want to steal energy from others and increase Trauma and Pain blockages to do this.

Instead of taking over Twenty years of Meditation, Advanced Techniques allow the process to be speeded up with the Advanced Techniques from a Synthesis of Successful Meditation Techniques taught to all advanced practitioners of Meditation for over 5000 years.

Good Teachers of Meditation must transmit Energies to help the Evolution of their Students. This Uppadesa is sometimes called Shaktipat and can come by word, glance or in Silence.

Good Teachers will always teach Advanced Techniques to Remove Aches and Pains, Negative Emotions and Trauma, Open the Heart, Connect to the Energies of the Higher Self and thus Access Higher Levels of Energy.

As the Ancient Text of the Siva Samhit, iii, 10-19: says, “Now I shall tell you how easily to attain success in Yoga, by knowing which the Yogis never fail in the practice of Yoga. Only the knowledge imparted by a Competent Teacher through his lips is powerful and useful; otherwise it becomes fruitless, weak and very painful.

Why spend time on techniques which give no results?

As Gautama Buddha Said, “Meditation is for those who believe in the reality of Enlightenment, and understand the Urgency of the Situation.” So, do not hang around. If you believe in Enlightenment, then you need to find the best and most Speedy Way!

Speed Up The Process of Enlightenment with Advanced and Effective Meditation Techniques, a Syntheses of Ancient and successful techniques over 5000 years old.
