Tight aggressive play is considered the most winning approach in online poker games. To play tight means playing very few hands. It does not necessarily mean playing timid though. You can still be an aggressive player and play a tight poker game or tournament.
So many of today’s Internet players utilize a loose aggressive style. This will win some pots but ultimately will undo most players because your opponents will catch on to the frequent bluffing and pots. Loose aggressive players eventually get called and busted.
To tighten up your game, follow these tips the next time you’re at Everest Poker FR:
* Track the percentage of hands you play pre-flop. If it’s more than 15-20 percent, then you are playing a loose style of poker.
* Be disciplined about folding post-flop. Track your percentages there because half the time the flop will miss your hand entirely. If you’re playing more than 50 percent of the flops, you’re chasing cards too often.
* Stick to premium starting hands from early position and only loosen up a little as the button moves around and closer to you. There are 169 possible starting hands in poker and of those, only about six percent are considered top starting hands. Even if you broaden your starting range to 15 percent of all possible hands, that is only 25 card combinations.
* One trick is to only play hands that are good in blackjack – those that add up to 21 and close to it. The includes face cards and Aces with a ten and higher.
